Soft molasses cookies

To celebrate finishing the garden I decided to make a batch of my favorite cookies. It's another recipe from the book that came with my early 50s vintage model 9 Sunbeam mixer.

My great Grandmother used to make these all the time. I remember she always had a cookie jar full of them. The are super soft, more cake like then cookie like. I omitted the raisins since I didn't have any and used 1/2 cup of fat free yogurt instead of buttermilk. I topped them with cashews since that was all I had on hand.
