Finished the dress alteration from hell!

Ugh, this took me WAY longer to do then it is really worth, but I finally finished that dress alteration I mentioned earlier. This thing had been taken in, probably back in the 50s, to a 23" waist which I luckily was able to let back out to 27". The torso had also been shortened so I pretty much had to dismantle it and start over.

Looks great here but if you look up close up under the arms there are stitch marks I couldn't get to iron out.

I steamed and presses with all my might and the stitch holes ain't budging. Oh well. At least they are under the arms. The ivory satin belt I had to add on to hide the stitch mark scars from where I lengthened the dress back to where it was suppose to be. Thank goodness for always keeping lots of satin bias on hand!

I also changed out the old rhinestone buttons that were way too small for some larger shell ones and moved them over for as much budge room as possible. I surehope the future owner appreciates the effort it took to save this gem!
