Day of alterations and a new pattern

Today I set out on the mission to get all my newly aquired vintage clothing photographed and up in my Etsy shop. I managed to get all but two dresses snapped after noticing they both needed a slew of alterations before they can go up for sale. Poop! One of them is an easy fix and only needs the darts in the back restitched. The other is a pretty pale pink shirt dress someone took apart at one point and altered in to a size so small I don't think I can sell it as it is. (I'm sure there are a a few tiny ladies out there with a 32" bust and 23" waist, but I'm not gonna hold my breath that they will be waiting anxiously to buy the dress from me, hehe.) Luckily all the excess fabric is still there in the dress to be let back out a few inches.

Since I was already knee deep in alterations today I decided to dig out this faboo 50s linen set I have had in the back of my closet for years. It has a hand painted circle skirt with scattered rhinestones and killer shelf bust halter top. It also had been taken in once upon a time to a teeny weeny size.

But not any more! Now it fits like a dream. Isn't it gorgeous? And to think I've been putting off letting it out for what...5 years now? After all that it only took me about an hour to do! Lol.

Today the pattern I bought on Etsy last week arrived and I can't wait to dig in to it. It's Butterick 6820.

I have both this peach bengaline fabric with speckles I want to use for it as well this pretty asian umbrella print I was considering for the contrast:

But now that I look at them side by side I think it would be a peach overload. I think I'll save the unbrella print for another dress project and just use the bengaline with solid black contrast for this pattern. I probably won't get started on it until tomorrow but I'll post pictures of my progress as I go. ;)
