Simplicity 1610 - done!

Viola! Here it my latest version of Simplicity 1610. The fabric is a stiff maize yellow cotton with a black chantilly lace overlay. I added scattered rhinestones in yellow, clear and lime green for a little sparkle. This one took me about 7-8 hours from start to finish. I am thrilled with how it turned out and can't wait to wear it out.

The center back lace pattern didn't match up perfectly which I am bummed about. Oh well, it happens. This lace was tricky to work with and kept shifting on me while I was cutting it.

I think this may be my last dress for the make a month challange this year since I have already made so many! My next project will be to make a new purse. I have some pink and white leopard print twill I've been saving for something special which will be perfect. Anyhoo, that's it for Simplicity 1610. Over and out.

Great job with the lace, and the colors are just stunning. I have fabric for lace overlay dress, but have not worked up the courage to tackle it yet!
I wouldn't even have noticed that the pattern didn't match up on the back!

What a gorgeous little dress! And it would be a shame to your fans if you suddenly stopped the make a month challenge. I am really, really enjoying seeing these vintage patterns come to life.

Thanks so much everyone! ;)

Atomic Mama- I do have a shop on Etsy- (voodoolounge.etsy.com) as well as a website (www.hotrodvoodoo.com) where I offer my own vintage inspired designs to be custom made to order.

Schmoo- I'm not going to give up the make a month challange, I am just going to focus on making garments other than dresses. I'm still going to use use vintage patterns only they will be for pants, tops, skirts and accessories.:)
