Peach dresses and Lucite Purses

Hello there warm weather, meet my cool and breezy vintage nylon peach dress. Today was the first time I wore this since last summer but seeing that it was 91 degrees out today, it was time to pull it out of the closet.

This dress was another Ebay find I won for under $20 bucks. It was originally very plain and a bit frumpy. It had elbow length sleeve which I hacked off and I took much joy in embellishing with some cherry red lace, embroidery floss and vintage art deco glass buttons.

Here is a close up of the print. I think it's fab. Swirly pale peach paisleys and random clovers. And a bright red neck! The blood red hair color I used stains like crazy.

New to me this week is this lovely pearl lucite purse. I adore it but it's shorter then most and I find I can't fit all my random purse stuff into it. It will have to be a special occasion purse I guess. Or maybe I'll just display it in my sewing room. I got it for under $60 so I can't complain.

I also have this little beauty which is lucite purse perfection. Another great Ebay find for under $60. The only problem is that it is missing one of the screws to the lid and the top flops around rendering it unusable.

See what I mean? I haven't tried to fix it yet. Not sure where to find a screw small yet long enough to fit this. Has anyone reading this ever attempted to repair a lucite purse?
