Garden explosion

Yipee, we have apples! They should be ripe for picking within a month.

Our avocado tree is also full of fruit but they grow much slower and won't be done til around November. The varity of tree we have is called a 'Bacon' avocado. It makes much larger sized fruit that stay a pretty green color unlike the common Haas avocados that are small and black.

Can you spot the baby avocado in this picture?

Here we have onions and pumpkin. I love how the pumpkin has vined all the way down the side of the wall. We have three pumpkins already and one is already really big!

The strawberry patch. We get 3-5 ripe ones a day.

Tomatoes go 'splody! This crazyness is our corn and cherry tomatoe plants. Note to self- don't plant 6 tomatoes that close together again. (Woops)

This row has roma and big boy tomatoes on the right, peppers of all sorts in the center, a few random corn stalks and zucchini on the left. There are only three zucchini plants but they have rocked out all summer fruiting like mad. We have more squash then we know what to do with.Yesterday I picked this monster sized squash. It weighed two and a half pounds! I named it 'squashenstein' and then made a large loaf of zucchini bread with it.

Today I ripped out the brussle sprout plants in the greenhouse and planted green beans in their place. I also planted more cucumber seeds since the cucumbers I planted in March are just about done and starting to wither. Just for fun I threw three watermelon seeds into my bigger planter that now has a handful of sad weedy looking spinich plants in it. Fingers crossed it's not to late and I get lots of sprouts. ;)

You are so lucky to be in such a favorable growing climate. So far I have only had radishes from my garden although I would have had strawberries but the ants have been going at em.

How your garden grows! One summer as a kid we had a legion of Squashenteins in our garden, my mom often tried to pass off something like "spice cake" or "healthy joes" to my brother and I. They were always loaded with zucchini!
