Figures. As soon as I am ready to make a new post today with pics o' plenty of my lovely garden my laptop power supply cord broke. This is computer number two to give me grief this month! I am now posting on the Hubbys laptop but it does not have camera drivers and photoshop and yada yada yada. So my garden post will have to wait until I get my computer back up.
In the meantime I will have to make do with links to pretty things I have been buying on the internets. Like this pattern:
Simplicity 3465
I've been on a 1930's kick with my sewing this year. This one has similar lines to the other 30's frock I posted about last week with that deco shaped center front panel. I already bought the fabric I want to use on this on Ebay from the seller FabricSupplier here. It's 100% cotton sateen and was only $2.50 a yard, a steal of a deal!
This would look great done up in all the print fabric or with a solid color center front on both the bust and skirt. This is such a great dress I think I may also make it in solid black.
Another recent Ebay purchase is this nifty 1950's handmade thread holder thingy:
It's made with atomic starburst formica backing!
It arrived today and is happily hanging in my sewing room full of thread. I also bought these 1940's kitschy wall hangings for my living room off of Etsy:
I wish I could post a picture of how they look hanging on my bright red walls next to all my other vintage Asian wall decor but that won't happen until I get a new power supply for my lappy. Gah!

Oh that fabric is adorable and what a great price! I LOL'd at the thread holder because that same paneling was in my grandparent's bathroom! Awesome!
That print is so cute! I really wish I could sew! It is the most disheartening thing for me to know that my mother was a self taught seamstress and I can barely sew on a button.
