This was supposed to be my frock on a Friday post, but here it is on a Sunday instead. Well actually it was my frock on a Saturday since I wore this yesterday but today I am staying in my jammies which is not outfit post worthy.
I wore my favorite vintage 1950's cotton dress. It's gray and white gingham with yellow embroidered polka dots and match yellow piping. I love that the polka dots are embroidered on and not just printed. This dress fits so perfectly and is so flattering. I should really make a pattern from it so I can make another one once I wear this one out.
I wore it with a white vintage slip that has a built in petticoat. It's one of those dreamy 1950's slips with the gathered bust made out of super soft nylon. I love it to bits and wish I could find another like it in a different color. Also worn with my fabulous yellow leopard print lily hair flower. I have a collection of these in almost every color.
Even better, it zips down the back. My #1 beef with most 50's dresses is the annoying side zip!
Close up of the fabric. The top of the bodice has rhinestones added to all the polka dots! I found this dress about 5 years ago at Buffalo Exchange for a song and a dance. Somewhere around $14 bucks or so. I paired it with my two new bakelite bracelets which have become a fixture on my wrist this week.
This concludes todays frock post. Happy Sunday!
