Petal Bust dress - part two

All done! I finally got around to making a full dress with my petal bust pattern. I had exactly just enough red gingham left to make this so it worked out perfect. I used the same exact pattern as I did on the bustier version only this time I added in a full skirt with contrast side pleats.

More pictures and details:

The only thing I did different is I added an extra pleat on the bust at the bottom so it would sit flat. I also added more boning to this so I can wear it without a bra.

I wore it last night while eating BBQ and already managed to get a stain on it, lol.

This is by far one of my favorite patterns I've drafted. I already want to make another one! I think the next time I will make it in leopard print with black contrast. I am also thinking it would look fab with a gathered/ruffled fabric on the underlayer of the bust. What do you guys think? If you were to make one for yourself what color/print combo would you go for?

Love this color combo, how aboyt a hawaiian version with a plain fabric contrast? That would be awesome!

Wow! Utterly wonderful!

Oh how I wish I could make clothes as easily and as marvellously as you!

If I were to chose a fabric for that dress, I would go for black and white stripes for a circus theme or make it out of a luxurious dark purple or dark green or dark red crushed velvet with black trim and lots of black petticoat netting under the skirt.. Victorian style!

Talent! xxx
