Frock on a Friday

Namaste and welcome to my backyard garden of paradise.

Can anyone guess what this neat Chinese lantern looking plant is? Hint- hidden under the 'lantern' is a fruit mostly used in salsa.

The blueberries are almost ripe for picking.

The jasmine is in bloom.

Today I am wearing a skirt I have not been able to zip all the way up for over a year. Today it fits! Over the last 5 years I've sloooowly gained 15 pounds. It happens. I'm ready to get rid of it. I've been eating extra healthy and started working out again. So far I've lost 5 pounds. It's not much, but just enough to finally wear this skirt again.

Yesterday I bought myself a triple barrel hair waver. This one to be exact. I was a huge fan of big hair inducing crimping irons in the 80s but this one is different. It's double the size (and kinda heavy if you ask me) and gives a wider, more 1930s like wave. I like it but I will need more practice to get the hang of it.

New to me this week is this black faceted bakelite bracelet. I won it on Ebay for just under $60. The seller claims it passed the 409 and smell test but I have not tested it myself yet. I definitely do get the 'smell' when I ran it under hot water but it just feels too light weight to be bakelite to me. I've been on a bakelite buying binge lately so I need to get some asap!
