Friday frock post

It's been a while since my last post! I didn't mean to abandon my blog, I've just been busy.  Not with any new sewing I am afraid so I don't have any newly made clothes to show off. But I did get gussied up yesterday for Frock Friday wearing a lovely vintage white 1920s sheer silk dress with a handmade lace front panel.

I wore it with a 1950s white slip, a pair of cream vertical striped crochet tights, my Fluevog mary janes and an extra long strand of vintage glass pearls.

Last time I posted I mentioned I was toying with the idea of dying my hair pink. Well, I did- sorta. I bleached it using Effasol stripper but only with a 10 volume peroxide since I didn't want fry my already damaged hair. I lifted it to a golden blond and then used Special Effects Atomic Pink. While the color is pretty, it's not really pink. More of a reddish pink. My bad. I should have known I would have to bleach it all the way to pale yellow get the pink to show up pink and not red. Oh well. I am on the fence if I want to bleach it again and go lighter pink or just leave it be.

In non-hair and frock news Loki us really enjoying the summer weather. ;)

And we finally have apples!

I am baking up a batch of apple muffins as I type this. MmmMMmmmm, they smell amazing!

GORGEOUS dress, I love it! So hard to find 20's dresses these days. Love your hair color too - fabulous!

Looking very pretty. Reds & pinks in my experience are just a nightmare to get the right shade and keep it that way. I do like the shade of yours though. I must've dyed my hair with 3 different reds to get it the right shade.
